From humble beginnings in 1987 as a single practice in Flora Clinic in Roodepoort, we now comprise 26 radiologists servicing the imaging needs of hospitals, smaller medical centres and Medicross’ in Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, and Kwazulu Natal
Practices vary from fully-fledged diagnostic centres attached to major hospitals and offering all imaging modalities, to smaller x-ray facilities attached to general practitioners’ rooms and community medical centres.
Our radiologists, ultrasonographers and radiographic technologists form a highly qualified and motivated team of imaging professionals, in the service of our patients and their referring physicians.

Drs Van Rensburg & Partners SA Inc., based at Life Flora Hospital, has achieved a major milestone in African healthcare with the installation of the continent’s first Canon Aquilion ONE INSIGHT Edition 640-slice CT scanner.
The investment further strengthens the practice’s position as a leader in advanced medical imaging and makes it the only radiology practice in South Africa to operate two 640-slice CT scanners within a single facility.
The Aquilion ONE INSIGHT Edition represents the latest generation of CT technology, delivering exceptional image quality, faster scan times, and lower radiation doses. Its advanced 640-slice detector captures up to 16cm of anatomy in a single rotation, allowing entire organs such as the heart, brain, and major joints to be imaged in one scan. This capability reduces motion artefacts, improves diagnostic accuracy, and enhances patient comfort.
Designed to support a wide range of clinical applications, the scanner excels in cardiac imaging, stroke assessment, oncology, trauma, and vascular studies. Its ultra-fast 0.24-second rotation speed enables whole-heart imaging in a single heartbeat, providing clinicians with detailed diagnostic information while minimising the need for invasive procedures.
The system also incorporates Canon’s latest artificial intelligence-powered technologies, including Deep Learning Reconstruction and advanced workflow automation, helping radiologists achieve greater diagnostic confidence and improved operational efficiency.
The addition of Africa’s first Aquilion ONE INSIGHT Edition underscores Drs Van Rensburg & Partners’ ongoing commitment to investing in world-class healthcare technology.
